The Purpose of This Web Site
Dr. Wong created this web site when she realized that many of her friends and family (of Asian descent) were asking her for advice about mental health concerns. She started to research the internet and found that while there was a lot of information on the web, it was not necessarily "user-friendly," and there was no consolidated place where one could find mental health information that was sensitive and specific to the Asian / Asian American population and culture.
As noted throughout the pages on this site, this project is purely Dr. Wong's volunteer effort. There is no financial endorsement nor any formal affiliation with an organization. Dr. Wong has tried to make this web site as inclusive and helpful as possible to the Asian / Asian American population. However, because she is Chinese American, her own personal experiences may be reflected in some of this web site's content.
Dr. Wong would like to thank Irene Rideout for her help with editing and Jessica Sousa for her help with the web site design.
